A Meeting with the Great Minds in Art!
Jose Meets Rufino Tamayo.
Mr. Rufino Tamayo was a great visionary artist who I met 27 years ago. Mr. Tamayo and my father
collaborated together on afew ideas on how to better promote the first Latin America art bienal here in New York
City 1978-1979. Mr.Rufino was our guest of honor while my father was the President of the Hispanic Art League,
(H.A.L.). I was a young 22 year old that would not understand the impact Mr. Tamayo would have on my fathers
life until he explained his Stencilgraph series. My father suddenly came alive with new art works and methods he
was developing under the infuence, not on drugs or alchohol, but under the influence of Mr. Tamayo. My father
kepted in contact with him thru out the years until he passed away. Here in this site you will see my father with Mr.
Tamayo in discussion at the First Benial in New York City in 1978-1979. I can truly understand something I did not

after they met. That must
